After church we had a ward "Munch and Mingle" in the cultural hall in honor of the senior missionary couple that had been serving in the ward that were about to finish their mission. It was SO funny. In our ward there was no such thing as lines, manners, or sharing. Everyone just rushed at the food and grabbed it until it was gone. The Clapham Common Ward is pretty cool. haha. Oh and also, my 11-year-old friend Lawrence had a pair of sunglasses and he asked me what they call them in "America". I told him sunglasses, but sometimes shades, and he got pretty excited. I heard him later talking to his friend about his "shades". Hah!

Sunday, July 13
Because of the time difference here, the wards miss some of the later sessions of General Conference. So, all the wards in our stake were assigned to watch the Sunday afternoon session instead of having Sunday School and Relief Society/Priesthood. The only problem... the DVD didn't work. We got halfway through Elder Holland's talk and then it froze and wouldn't play anymore. After probably a half an hour sitting in the dark trying to fix it, one of the missionaries in the ward finally went and read another talk from the Ensign over the pulpit, and by then, it was time to be over. The whole experience made me realize how ungrateful I am for how easy it is to watch Conference. We just have to stumble out of bed and turn on the tv and it's right there. And not just that, but I actually attended that particular session.
